Bangalore University
Bangalore University located in the Garden City of Bangalore aptly hailed as the “IT capital of India” was established in July 1964 as an offshoot of the University of Mysore, primarily to include institutions of Higher learning located in the metropolitan city of Bangalore and the districts of rural Bangalore, Kolar.

Bangalore University has grown both in size and strength to include a large number of affiliated colleges, P.G. Centres of research and a rich diversity of programme options. In consonance with this expansion, in 1973 the University moved into a new campus ‘Jnana Bharathi’ (JB) located on a sprawling 1,100 acres of land and shifted many of its post-graduate departments to this newly established campus. At present, the JB Campus houses the administrative office a large number of post-graduate departments, Directorates, Centres of higher learning, Gandhi Bhavan, Ambedkar Bhavan, NSS Bhavan, Outdoor Stadium and other support services.

  Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
Medical education in Karnataka is governed by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Medical, Dental, Nursing and allied disciplines in Karnataka come under the purview of RGUHS, Bachelor's / Master's degree courses of specialization in Medicine include Anaesthesia technology. Cardiac technology, Hospital Administration, Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Perfusion technology, Psycho-Social Rehabilitation, Radiography and Renal Dialysis technology. RGUHS also has under its affiliation Ayurvedic Colleges, Homeopathy colleges and Colleges offering education in Unani medicine, RGUHS has geographical jurisdiction over entire Karnataka, covering more than 270 Health Sciences Institutions, representing the faculties of Medical, Dental, Indian Systems of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and other Paramedical courses.
  Visveswaraiah Technological University
VTU is one of the biggest Technological University in India, having 144 colleges affiliated to it with under graduate course in 27 disciplines and PG Programme in 66 disciplines. The intake at UG level is about 45000 students and at the PG level it is about 7500 students. Recognized Engineering colleges in Karnataka are under VTU, which came into being in April 1998. VTU has its head quarters at Belgaum and Regional Offices at the four Revenue Divisional Head Quarters, namely, Belgaum, Bangalore, Gulbarga and Mysore. The engineering colleges affiliated to VTU fall under Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum and Gulbarga regions. VTU offers graduate courses (B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch.), Post graduate courses (M.Tech), and other courses like M.B.A., M.Sc. (Engineering) by Research and Ph.D. Programmes.
  Mysore University

The University of Mysore, established in 1916 is functioning as an autonomous institution since 1956. The main campus of the University, created in 1960, lies in a picturesque area of 739 acres at the western end of the Kukkarahalli Lake. The University headquarters, the Crawford Hall, is located right across the lake on the eastern end. This inspiring locale of the campus was aptly named Manasagangotri (fountainhead of the Ganges of the Mind) by the poet-laureate, Dr. K.V.Puttappa (Kuvempu). In due course, two satellite campuses were set up in response to the demands of postgraduate education from semi-urban/rural areas.

The University now encompasses 122 affiliated colleges and 5 constituent colleges (with an aggregate of 53,000 students). In addition, the University has 37 postgraduate departments, 8 specialised research & training centres and 2 postgraduate centres that together offer about 55 regular academic programmes to 3,500 students. It also runs a number of employment-oriented diploma courses and certificate programmes.

  Bharathiar University
Bharathiar University, named after the famous Tamil poet Subramania Bharathiar, is an important center of higher education at Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu. Educational jurisdiction of the University is spread over the districts of Coimbatore, Erode and the Nilgiris. It is located at the foothills of Maruthamalai, in a sprawling campus at a distance of a few kilometers from Coimbatore on Maruthamalai Road. The University has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A Grade.
  Bharathidasan University
Bharathidasan University is located in Tiruchirapalli district of Tamil Nadu. It is named after a revolutionary Tamil poet. Besides the main campus of the University at Trichy, there exists a city campus at Khajamalai. Its educational jurisdiction spreads over eight districts including Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur and Pudukkottai.
